Sports Illustrated Has Announced The Launch Of A Body-Inclusive Swimwear Line
Miami Swim Week is a favourite for many, with brands from all over coming together to showcase their latest designs and styles. The catwalk that got everyone talking though? Sports Illustrated.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show debuted a new body-inclusive swimwear line, Sports Illustrated Swim & Active, which got crowds excited and women of size even more so at the idea of more size-inclusive pieces for the beach and pool.
The selection of models that were cast was impressive, with bodies ranging in different shapes and sizes, all of them finalists for the contest that will see the winner photographed for the February Swimsuit Issue, which has seen Ashley Graham and Hunter McGrady sizzle in recent years.

Talking to the New York Post, MJ Day - editor of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit - said: “[People in the crowd] lost their minds when the curvy girls came out. I think they were shocked because you don’t typically see that at fashion week […] especially at swim fashion week. Some people [in the audience] were moved to tears because they saw themselves represented on the runway, which they never thought they would.”
The collection showed some daringly high-cut briefs, laser-cut monokini, metallic one pieces and teeny weeny triangle bikinis, all designs that will debut in the brand's first collection which drops early 2018. Prices start at $40 up to $160, with sizes available up to a US size 20 (UK 22).
