Two Mums Have Created A Game-Changing Make Up Removal Product

Two Mums Have Created A Game-Changing Make Up Removal Product

Countless times have I got home either exhausted, drunk, or just lazy, and can't be bothered to take off my make up. Gross, but if you've never thought that at least a handful of times in your life, you're lying.

Two Australian mums found themselves feeling the same way when they touched down in LA after a long-haul flight, and something magical happened.

Friends for over 20 years, Sydney natives Rebecca Williamson and Lizzy Pike have seven children between them, so to say that what little spare time they do have is precious is an understatement. The pair had a lightbulb moment after discussing microfibres and their cleaning powers in relation to make up, a concept that they'd never previously considered.

After seven rejected prototypes, Face Halo was born, a circular microfibre cloth that reportedly removes all traces of make up when used with water. No chemicals or nasties, just water.

Talking to Daily Mail Australia, the pair spoke about their intentions for the product: “We wanted something gentle on the skin, and that didn't require chemicals,” Williamson explained.

Having worked with microfibres for 15 years, Pike added: 'Microfibre itself isn't new, but it's 100 times finer than human hair, and by mixing the Face Halo with water, the fibres get deep down in to the pores and lift out trapped makeup, dirt and oil off the skin.'

It's launched to critical acclaim within the beauty industry, with friend and actress, Naomi Watts, calling the product a "game changer" for her sensitive skin and Australian beauty blogger Chloe Morello on board as the face of the brand.

After launching in LA just this month, Face Halo blew up so much that the company have extended their shipping to Canada, UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, and Hong Kong.

A pack of three Face Halos retails at $22, with each cloth able to withstand 200 wash cycles. Given the response it's had, you best cross 'make up wipes' off your shopping list.
