Nicolette Mason And Gabi Gregg's Fashion Line Is What We've All Been Waiting For
The plus-size fashion line of our dreams is here, finally.
Two of the world's most influential names in plus-size have introduced a collection that they've worked on together. Nicolette Mason and Gabi Gregg (aka Gabifresh) have blended their incredible personal styles to create Premme, a clothing line for US sizes 12 (UK 14) to 30 (UK 32).
Talking to Refinery29, Gabi Gregg said: “We’re consumers first and foremost. We’ve always loved fashion — we’ve been fashion girls for a very long time, and we’re frustrated with the fact that designers aren’t making our size. The brands that are making our size are [creating products that are] diluted and watered down. We didn’t want that for our brand. We didn’t want to compromise style.”
The collection was designed to pack a heavy punch, with statement pieces scattered throughout, ensuring plus-size women will never have to sacrifice style for size again. Pieces include striped playsuits, sheer overlay dresses and lots of denim.
“Even our basics aren't basic,” Gregg continued. She's not even joking - the collection features a shorts sweatsuit embellished with pearls, showing that style doesn't stop even if you're just headed to the shop for a pint of milk.
“You never want to always have to put an outfit together, but you have to go outside and you want to look good, so this is our answer to wanting to be comfy and be cute,” Mason added.
A fashion-forward collection like this being made available to such a wide range of sizes will hopefully make retailers aware of how easy it can be to make their lines size-inclusive. Talking about their aim to encourage other retailers, Mason said: 'We’re feminists, and what we really believe is is making clothing accessible to as many people as we can. So we were so excited to be able to produce a bigger size range than most brands.'
Since its launch, the collection's pieces have pretty much sold out, showing that getting our hands on something from this line won't be easy, but it's safe to say that Premme is one thing you won't want to miss out on.
