Laverne Cox Won't Go Full-Glam On A Date Until They Prove Themselves Worthy

Laverne Cox Won't Go Full-Glam On A Date Until They Prove Themselves Worthy

There are hundreds of reasons why we love Laverne Cox, and we've just added a new one to the list.

When it comes to dating, there's a tonne of pressure put on women to look their best, and to try and keep up the 'illusion' that they look perfect 24/7 for as long as possible into a relationship. Take off your make up in front of a new boyfriend and let him see your non-full glam face? Shame on you. Well, no we don't mean that at all, but that's how society tells us to feel about it.

Cox, who we know and love to be a fabulously flawless beauty junkie, has served up some of the fleekiest make up looks going. Having said that, in a recent sit-down with Access Hollywood, she spoke about how she saves those killer looks for those who are worthy of them (plus us, her loyal Instagram following).

'My whole dating thing is, I show up as Laverne,' she told them. 'I don't glam up. I give maybe a little powder for shine, and I'm like, this is it. Because the first few dates, you don't know if they're going to last or not.'

Despite her choice to go with the bare minimum, she believes - similarly to us - that whether you opt for a full face or not, you're a queen and it's all about doing what makes you feel good.

'I'm going to put the effort in once you've proven that you deserve all of this,' Cox said. 'I used to, when I was younger. Now, it's not about trying to make [dates] like me. I used to try and make them like me. Now [my dating criteria is], do I like you? Do we have anything in common? Are you into the real, authentic Laverne, stripped way down?'

Make up, no make up, our girl Laverne is always beautiful.
